Declaration

Today, I declare my intent to stand for election in Arbory, Castletown and Malew in the up and coming Manx general election on the 24th September 2026.
As a very proud Manxman, having the opportunity to run for a constituency that has given me so much is an incredible honour. If elected, I will treat this privilege with the utmost responsibility. I believe the person you choose to elect, must mirror what you want to see in our Island’s society. I hope to be that voice for you.
I grew up in Clagh Vane, Ballasalla, and had the best childhood that was available to us. I played football for Malew AFC, went to Ballasalla School, and then on to Castle Rushen High School. In 2018 I opened a music venue called Compton Vaults in Parliament Square, Castletown. Since then, I’ve contributed to many Island industries. As well as being a local business owner centred around the community of Castletown, I was on the frontline at Abbotswood in Ballasalla during COVID-19. I spent time in construction while maintaining a small events business. In 2023, I moved into the third sector with Isle Listen, again based in Castletown, and I am currently working with The Children’s Centre and the Manx language and culture charity, Mooinjer Veggey. Working with these three children’s charities, has brought me further into the Manx community. Building relationships with local businesses and hosting events in Poulsom Park and Ballafesson so these three incredible organisations can continue their vital work.
Over these years, I’ve built a portfolio of skills at a variety of levels. Throughout my career, I have developed skills in project management and planning, team leadership, and risk management, priding myself on having the ability to see projects delivered on time and on budget. I’ve seen firsthand the struggles our community faces, but also the strength that our people hold when they need to come together for a common cause.
We are all aware of the difficulties our island faces over the next five years, with the cost of living and healthcare topping a long list, alongside the ongoing, needlessly endless discussion around the new CRHS. I believe, as an island it is so important to have more control of our own resources. Better food and energy security is a must, and achieving this should directly take away some of the financial pressures our households feel.
We also need a fresh look at the structure of Manx Care so it is more efficient and delivers appropriate care in an appropriate timeframe, not only nationally, but at a local level. Reducing waiting times is a must, and it will be at the top of most candidates’ to-do lists!
Hold your representative accountable for what they have and haven’t done. Many government-backed projects appear to have been grossly misbudgeted, mismanaged, and miscommunicated. Budget, management and communication are key to any project, no matter the scale.
I also look to champion for our children’s futures. Building a safe and beautiful place for our children to raise their families. With better job opportunities, affordable housing and affordable household bills. Other places have this, why can’t we? Supporting the arts, heritage and tourism are key to a healthy and busy society. The hospitality industry needs help, and the best help it can get is footfall!
I will be your voice in Tynwald if you choose me on the 24th of September. I will work tirelessly to ensure the voice of Arbory, Castletown and Malew is heard, and every idea in Tynwald is scrutinised, to be certain that it is the people of this Island who benefit. I will work for you, and the work I do will ensure the future for your children’s children is bright. We are trusted guardians of this special place and its special people.
My approach is rooted in achievable progress, making better what we already have, fixing what is holding us back, and moving forward where necessary to secure the future of the Isle of Man
